A really enjoyable website project for several reasons... One, owner Fritz Krimmer is a guy who really knows the pizza parlor business; two, he and his entire family who run Italianette Pizza are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet; and three, the FOOD!
Being a family owned and operated establishment, it was concluded that photos were needed of his culinary delights. On the day of the photo shoot, Fritz made practically everything on the menu within about a two-hour time span! He cooked and I (Jeanne) shot, all the while trying not to steal a bite - unsuccessfully I might add. There goes my diet! Fritz was thrilled with the results and I was thrilled to have genuine photographs of his cuisine to work with! I also got some great shots of the restaurant itself. Design Strategy: Italianette Pizza is all about homemade pizza and Italian classics, family, and tradition. Its roots in the Silverton area of Cincinnati go way back and Fritz, himself, has been involved with it since he was a teenager. While it's normally pretty safe to use the red-checkered tablecloth Italian theme, that (otherwise sound) concept wasn't going to work. Their Italian creations are traditional yet very unique... And their rich history is vastly important to who they are today. One of their most popular pizzas is the Deluxe Seven which features green peppers and bacon. I had a great shot of that pizza and decided to feature it in the header. The color scheme, as a result, fell into place quite naturally with rich colors like burgundy, deep greens and mellow yellows. These tones also worked perfect with the "tradition" concept depicted by faded sepia-tone photos of family. Throw in some parsley and the allusion of checkered tablecloths and voila! We had the perfect online compliment to the real brick-and-mortar establishment. Read what Jennifer Krimmer had to say about the look and feel of the new Italianette website: "...I love the colors, the checkered background when you open the site... We are thrilled with it. It really stands out!" We created a synopsis of Italianette as well for the homepage adding a keyword-rich headline which sums up the Italianette experience. Here's what Jenn had to say about our copy editing: "...The content is so easy to read too." Click here to read the complete testimonial Restaurant Menu The main focus, of course, is on the food menu. Fritz wanted to be able to change minor information such as prices and descriptions. He also had more than one focus since he also offers catering for parties, group gatherings, etc. We installed a restaurant extension that could be easily maintained by non-techies and that offered great flexibility such as multiple pricing, unlimited menu types, and even photo pop-ups for a close-up look of the pizza. Future Expansion As with any popular pizza parlor, Fritz stays busy, busy, busy. There are several ideas he wants to implement on his website in the future, and a few of them are already in progress. Coupons, newsletter, specialty pizza test platform, customer surveying, and possibly even online ordering are a few of the features to come. We built the Italianette Pizza website with all this in mind so that he can easily expand and utilize the power of Joomla! and the web. All Services Rendered:
