Baths Plus in Cincinnati has been around for many years. Owner John Ashton's work ethic coupled with his keen eye for design and detail is the reason why. We were very excited to take on the project of creating a new website for his successful company!

Design Strategy:

Designing for a designer is the ultimate challenge, but also an enjoyable experience - if that designer is John Ashton. With a TON of testimonials and certificates, it would be easy enough to communicate his professionalism, experience, know-how... But that can soon become a giant "WE WE" site! (You know, we this and we that and nothing at all about what YOU are interested in.)

Since his basic nature is to help people (so serously, stop driving yourself crazy trying to pick out bathroom tile yourself), the new site would offer personal tips and advise in addition to the standard portfolio. We designed a professional yet friendly looking site that would evoke ideas in the minds of its visitors while instilling trust. And if nothing else, it just makes you feels good! Look and feel is minty fresh, bathroom clean - ahhh. If you're a boomer, no doubt you remember the color of Crest toothpaste back in the early 60's...

Copy Writing and Editing Service:

Although Baths Plus' old website had copy, several different topics were blended together on a few long pages. Our aim was to create individually focused webpages on niche topics... So we wrote new copy and rewrote old copy throughout the entire new website. Sure did learn a lot! We created an entire section of helpful DYI articles, wrote all new introductions to specific areas, and essentially reworked every bit of copy on this website.

The Portfolio Gallery

Utilizing a photo gallery as a portfolio of work may be effective in some cases. However, in the case of Baths Plus, one single location where a visitor can view all photos would be, at best, confusing. Such was the case with his old website. A visitor would have to browse through several photos, most being unrelated to the each other except by filename! In some cases, a person unfamiliar with John's work would not be able to tell if the photo represented before or after!

Since Baths Plus offers small bathroom, large bathroom, and kitchen remodeling, we divided the portfolio into these specific categories. Then further, we broke it down per each job designating the room BEFORE and then AFTER. And each of these are actual web pages that can be indexed by search engines rather than flash. Much better!
